- Central Line: “better schedules” to reduce delays.
- Cape Flats Line: changes to peak-hour services.
- Southern Line: no changes.
When did it start?
Monday 8 June 2026. The Western Cape government announced it on 11 June 2026.
What did the province say?
Western Cape Mobility Minister Isaac Sileku said: “We want rail to become the backbone of an integrated public transport system in our province.” He called the changes “an important step towards rebuilding confidence in passenger rail”.
